Positive: The Villa is spectacular, surrounded by lush tropical gardens including a pond and a stream and is close to the shops, cafes and beaches. It is very peaceful and tranquil, perfect for relaxing on a veranda with a cup of tea and a book. It's very comfortable inside, with a well-stocked kitchen (no oven due to the place running on a generator) and a glorious main bedroom and bathroom upstairs. We absolutely loved the place and would come back again!

Negative: This property was advertised as a three-bedroom villa and rented as an entire house. We booked this place thinking we were renting a 3-bedroom place but when we arrived, late in the evening, the other two bedrooms were locked and inaccessible. We had to call the property manager for someone to come out to unlock and prepare the other bedroom and were told that we would have to play an additional $100 per night for the 2nd bedroom. This was quite a shock, especially that the 2nd bedroom is very small and is located outside the main interior of the property (so if you need the bathroom during the night you can only access it through the main house). We explained our confusion to the owners who kindly waived the extra charges, but do be aware that the advertising is confusing and make sure that if you require the extra bedrooms, as we did, you need to clearly communicate that to the owners.

Positive: My son and I wanted a quiet place where we could relax and have a rebonding holiday. The wide decks feeling almost part of the forest provided the serenity we sought . The expensive and varied garden is a delight. Despite no normal electricity the Webber and gas hot plates were very satisfactory for preparing our meals. Between Cape Tribulation and Daintree there are a number of shops with more than adequate supplies

Positive: Very peaceful. Lovely gardens. Great communication. Awesome bath. Good quality kitchen and utensils.

Negative: The stairs to the master bedroom. We both have bad knees but great if your younger. We should of changed bedroom to one in the main part of house. Laundry not very usable.

Positive: I liked the initial communication with the owner, everything was fully explained regarding access and facilities, surrounding activities and directions to the property etc. we were allowed to check in early which was brilliant as it gave us a whole day to unload the van and settle in. There were further texts to make sure we arrived safely, and apart from some annoying delays due to roadworks on the way it was a lovely drive. The property itself was a tranquil peaceful hideaway yet still close to the town and beach, we only went to the beach once as it was so lovely just sitting on the verandah overlooking the gardens and wandering around exploring the grounds. The sound of the birds and frogs and insects during the day and at night added to the enjoyment. The Villa was extremely well set up and every thing we could require for cooking was provided. WiFi was very strong no idea about the TV as we never used it due to having so much else to look at outside. The night walk was awesome it added a new dimension to the garden and pond and we even saw fireflies which gave the garden a magic touch. We slept so well each night, serenaded to sleep by natures chorus and our minds divesting all the work stress and other rubbish. The Villa was perfect and exactly as advertised and shown in the pictures.

Negative: Too short a stay and the roadworks on the way . No fault of Villa Zena of course.

Summary: Perfect way to recharge our minds and souls.

Positive: Beautiful location surrounded by rainforest, very private, nice garden, spacious rooms. Very clean, well supplied and everything worked well.

Negative: Some louvre windows in bedroom very stiff and hard to open. More comfortable seating on outside deck would be welcome.
